Too damn sleepy to add commentary, but to make up for that, this time I have progress pics, plus a pic of my new haircut (sadly, the lighting does a poor job of showing off the coloring). I am trying to focus less on, 'Oh, gee, an enormous blob, and a slightly less enormous blob' and more on, 'Eeee! I can actually /see/ the difference!' The old pics were from the 26th of April. The new ones were taken on Friday.

Eeee! My next reward is a Wii! Granted, it's, like, 16 pounds away. But still!

Goals, Plans, etc, for this week and beyond:
* I was happy with my weight loss.
* I followed the eating plan all this week.
* I took my multivitamin every day this week.
* I spent twenty minutes (or more) working out on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday either doing the ten minute walk-at-home, walking, swimming, Sweatin' to the Oldies, or my pedal exerciser.
* I did my grocery shopping on either Saturday the 20th.

Goals, Plans, etc, for this week and beyond:
* Next week, I will be happy with any weekly weight loss, even if it is nothing more than a tenth of a pound.
* If my weight loss falls below two pounds a week for more than four weeks, I will see about upping my activity to compensate.
* I will follow the eating plan all this week (the week ending on Friday, 26 June)
* I will continue to follow the eating plan after that
* I will take my multivitamin every day this week.
* I will continue to take my multivitamin every day after that.
* Having decided not to move up to 25 minutes, I will spend twenty minutes (or more) working out on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday either doing the ten minute walk-at-home, walking, swimming, Sweatin' to the Oldies, my Fitdeck, or my pedal exerciser. (Saturday done)
* When this week is over, I will evaluate my performance and consider upping activity to 25 minutes.
* I will do my grocery shopping on either Saturday the 27th or Sunday the 28th this week so that I do not run out and become tempted by fast food.
* I will continue to do my grocery shopping on either Saturday or Sunday every week.

You can definitely see the weight loss!!! I soooo need to do progress pics so I can one day look back and be like - whoa! These pics are awesome and you're doing great! I've had a bad weigh in this week and last week so this is totally motivating for me to get back on track.

Progress pics are a good tool, but I can totally understand the reluctance to use them. I don't even have pics of my heaviest weight - I couldn't stand to get in front of the camera then. But now I'm regretting not doing that.

you have totally motivated me! i have set a goal to lose 1lb by next week. this is going to be a hard goal because I am going on vacation. I'm going to try to make it the healthiest trip to virginia ever.

I finally stopped and asked myself, "/Why/ am I keeping my hair long?" "Because you can do more with long hair." "But all I ever /do/ is put it in a pony tail!" So then I chopped it off!

I love the new cut! It really lightens up yourf ace and shows off just how much you've lost. And OMG, hon, the difference is so very apparent when comparing the pics like that.

Hmm! That is a neat haircut.

One of the things I had a question about revolves around clothes shopping -- it seems like the weight loss, in order to be done safely, should take a while. I can't help but think though that the time frame just isn't quite long enough to justify buying a whole new wardrobe at each different increment (30-50 lbs?). How do you handle the logistics around that sort of thing?

Well. You know how 'experts' always advise that you should get away of cloths that don't fit, both when you get too large for them (because having them around is depressing or some such), and when you get too small for them (because that's leaving yourself with wriggle room, which encourages it to happen)?

Well, I tend to ignore the 'get rid of them when you get too large for them' part of that. So far I've just been wearing stuff I've shrunk back into.

Dude, go you! That's a good difference there. I like your hair too. Shorter hair is so much easier to handle (I just got mine all cut off as well).
