Righto. Because I don't have enough random things eating my time, this weekend, on an impulse buy, I picked up a computer game called "Fashion Solitaire." Because, of course, I know sooooooo much about fashion. You have these dolls that you have to dress, and a deck of various clothing items. Like with most solitaire games, you can only access certain items, and the rest are covered up until you uncover them. Meanwhile, the fashion models themselves has various desires concerning what they want to wear. The object is to dress the gals with stuff from your deck while matching as many of their desires (colors, items, etc) as you can. Of course, since you only have a few open cards from a shuffled deck, you can't always match things up quite as well as you might want, a fact which tends to lead me to doing things like giving models very, very clashing accessories in order to hit their 'want' colors. After each round, you pick a favorite outfit, and then after you've picked six favorites, you have a clothing line completed. Yay!

A nerfed version of the game can played on the web for free, but it's missing a lot of features: http://www.mylifetime.com/fun-games/games/dress/fashion-solitaire

So. Anyway. I would show you the godawful stuff I've been coming up with, except that I can't get into my photobucket account. Ohwell!

So, not only is this embarrassing to admit, but Tai may well kill me for what I did with her character (if I don't kill her with laughter first). So of course this post isn't even going to be locked, because it's technically a reviewish thing, and I leave those unlocked.

[livejournal.com profile] jazzchyk is to blame for this. She linked the game Pony Island in her journal, I followed the link, and now I'm caught, too. And just when I was finally ridding myself of Neopets! (Again.)

More talk behind cut. )

I played some of these with my cousins yesterday. Ian, age 12, Mary, age 10, and David, age 5 (or they could all be up a year. It always bewilders me the way people keep going up in age every year). They were very amusing, and David did rather well with picking words like Nouns and Adjectives when they were explained to him. Although we'd get conversations like:

Me: Okay, David. Your turn. I need you to pick a noun.
David: Okay. Okay. Uhm... what's a noun again?
Me: A noun is a person, place, or thing.
David: Ian!
Mary (proudly): Ian is a proper noun!
Me: Now it's your turn, Mary. Mary, I need an adjective.
Ian (distressed because he now believes the adjective will be applied to the proper noun of Ian): Oh! Mary picks mean adjectives!
Mary: Stinky!

And so on. :) Also, nine times out of ten, if a part of the body was called for, they'd suggest, 'butt.' Anyway, same deal as before. To play, I need the following:

Adjective
Adverb
Part of the body (plural)
Part of the body (plural)

Noun
Verb
Type of liquid

Verb ending in "ing"

Adjective

Edit: Edited because I was confusing myself. :(

I picked up some gummi worms today. They have strong nostalgia value for me. Back in my high school genetics class, my instructor would sometimes demonstrate genetic principles through the use of gummi worms. When we were done, we'd be allowed to eat the demonstration. The main thing I learned in that class that has stuck with me over the years is that DNA strands are yummy!

I also picked up a few Mad Libs books. These also have strong nostalgia value for me. I always loved Mad Libs! So I thought I could play them with my friends on my flist. If you want to play, respond to this post with a list of words matching the types of words I request. Then I'll reply to you with the completed Mad Lib. Simple! If more then one person wants to play, we'll just have multiple filled out versions of the same Mad Lib, which is cool by me.

To play, please respond to this post with the following:

1 Animal
The names of 3 people on my flist, or 3 characters from either (Fox's) Peter Pan or the Transformers, or combine these in any way to get 3 names
1 Occupation
4 Nouns
1 Place
1 Type of Liquid
2 Adjectives
1 Adverb
