Being weary of all the comments that have reached my ears (or rather, since it was via text, eyes) that Livejournal is for nothing but "memes, bitching, complaining, and drama," I've gone through and given the public face of my journal a good scrubbing, although I'm still not happy with my tagging.

Further explanation, plus a quick discussion on what stays public and what goes locked. )

So I logged onto the Internet, checked my friend's page, and I observe the following three entries, in order (realizing that my page-order is reverse chronological order):

"random jabbering" by [ profile] earthscorch
"Random Babbling" by [ profile] beckyh2112
"Random News Bites" by [ profile] uguardian

My, my, f-list! You're feeling rather random today, aren't you?

Added more to my comics mood theme. In case anyone cares, I figured I'd go through and show what all I've got.

Many bitty pictures behind cut! )

And... that's all I've got so far! I do not include sources yet, in case anyone wants to give a go at guessing them, but if anyone's curious, just ask.

Mood Theme

I think I mentioned a bit ago that I was planning on giving myself a comic-book based mood theme. Well, whether I did or didn't, I've done it now! Right now I only have the top of any hiarchy, so some of the matches don't make much sense... for example, while Superman fighting a bizarre monster works just fine for "Working," it doesn't fit too well for "Accomplished." I hope to, over time, fill in the blanks, but this works as a start. I also should start phasing out my non-comic icons... I want my LJ to look like a comic book page! Or something.

The ones I have were selected throught he careful process of 'grabbing whatever happened to be near my desk.' I imagine I'll be following a similar process in the future.

Guh. Looks like I may have to start locking my posts against anonymous posters. I don't want to have to do this, as I have family members who don't have LJs who read (and occasionally want to comment) in my journal, but I may have to. My troll (last year) wasn't enough to get me to start locking stuff, but now I've started receiving spam-mail in my Live Journal.

That's right. Spam-mail. In my Live Journal.

Someone stuck an ad for a cell phone ringtones service in my daily food log entry. My food log entry. "Oh, wow, these calorie counts are fascinating. Better stick and advertisement in here!"

Now, even so, I'm going to let this pass this time, but if it happens again, I suppose I'll have to start locking. Sigh.

Test Post

I am testing the new LJtalk thing. Because we all know that the universe needs more IM programs. More! More! I'm using meebo to connect and... I think, as far as web-based IM connectors, this one looks pretty spiffy. Gonna have to remember it if I'm ever AIMing from another computer.

Note to self: 'enter' inside of a post-over-IM doesn't work out well.

Also: Earthscorch. Try Seriously, it looks very resources friendly.

[ profile] dirtyfilthy has added me as a friend. The name didn't seem familiar, but when I went to his page, his icon was. Turns out it's the guy who wrote the script for adding gazillions of random friends to your flist that got mentioned in [ profile] bsting's journal awhile back.

I don't think I'm going to raise a fuss, because really, I don't care that much (caring takes effort. This post takes far less effort). But I don't think I'll be return friending him either.

Another picture taken from I love that site. :)

Well, I have finally gone and renewed my paid accounts which I let run out... ages ago. Mostly for the extra icons.

Which, of course, I promptly filled out with lame screenshots of my IMVU Sapphire. Mweheh. Some of the less clear ones may be getting ditched.

I was going to type up my comments about my comics for this week (The Pulse, Transformers: Infiltration, and G.I.Joe vs. Transformers vol III), plus mini-reviews for all my online comics, but after over an hour of typing, my computer crashed and I lost it ALL. So... not this week.

RIP Here

WELL... in case no one can tell by the fact that I haven't updated this thing in months and months, this is, more or less, a dead journal. I kind of expected this would happen from the start, but... eh. I may eventually get back to regular updates, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

Reason and Constructicon chatter behind cut. )

I have finally been persuaded to get a Live Journal. Not that I have any idea at all what I should do with it. I mean, I've already got a web page and a dA account, and I use the journal option on dA, plus I'm on three different ezBoards. I mean, just how much of my personal musings can the internet take? And really, who, exactly, cares? But here I am, shouting out my mindless ramblings for the whole world to see, in yet another location. I guess it's so I can feel important or something.

Thing is, I don't really know what to do with this. I mean, I'm too lazy to keep a paper journal, for crying out loud! Maybe I'll just use it to write down snippets and scenes that occur in my head, in the hopes that they collect themselves into a story of fanfiction. Something like this:

Edited out because I don't think I'm going to use this stuff anywhere, and I'd prefer it not be available for viewing if I don't.

Yes, I know I commit a number of sins in this one, like having my Original Chars actually know a canon character and what-have-you. And I know darned well this doesn't jive with comic canon, but I don't use comic canon. It doesn't, from what I can tell, contradict the cartoon (my canon of choice), so I'm running with it. If anyone's confused, I'm setting this very early in the war, not long after Prime's introduction.
